Here's the info:
Maternity are very excited to announce the release of our first physical release: Halogen’s debut album Baked. 10 tracks crafted over the course of 2006-2008 while residing in his previous home in Brighton, UK.
Baked follows hot on the heels of his first download only EP Recycled Broadcasts, which received positive acclaim internationally amongst numerous publications and his growing fan base. Mixing warm, organic melodies with intricate glitched out electronics, found sounds and samples, Halogen has created a delicate and mature masterpiece which belies his tender years.
Reviews:
“perfect for those Sunday mornings when you can barely get your head off the pillow…a unique record that lets you zone out and ignore life’s daily trivialities for a blissful 39 minutes.”
Glasswerk.co.uk
“an album of the highest caliber…between gentle abstract structures, quirky glitched undertones and distintive melodic bass lines that build gradually, managing to evoke emotionally charged soundscapes leaving the listener wanting to experience the whole collection again and again. 8/10“
Fluid Radio
“Halogen is wonderfully atmospheric electronic music. Delicious.”
Chris Coco
“Halogen is a talented young producer creating lush, gorgeous, thought-provoking music that demonstrates an emotional depth well beyond his mere 21 years. It distills everything that I love about Gas, Khonnor and Deaf Center into one beautiful album that captures that feeling of quiet, contemplative stillness you experience when you’re up super late at night, the only one still awake while the rest of the world is sound asleep.”
Steve Nalepa
“I’ve been watching the progress of Halogen with interest since I first saw him live at the Glade Festival in 2008. This music, characterized by light, emotive guitar & synth work and subtle percussive elements culminates into a refreshingly coherent album, providing a big statement of intent for both Halogen and the flourishing Maternity imprint.”
